In a builder grand master key system, master keys can open groups within them in the system but will not open locks under a different master key. Groups can be keyed alike or different but will not operate outside of their group. Once the tenant key is used, the construction key will no longer operate the lock. The grand master and the master key will always
operate the locksets in their specific groups.
