R422B can be used to COMPLETELY replace R-22 refrigerant in new or existing R-22 residential and commercial air conditioning systems as well as non-flooded evaporator chillers. R422B is a “replacement” refrigerant for R22 so you will not require a new TXV or compressor to run it in an AC unit. The R22 needs to be evacuated and properly recovered and the compressor oil needs to be correctly identified before charging the R422B. Depending on the age of the system, the lineset should be thoroughly flushed and the filters subsequently replaced.
