RectorSeal No. 5 is a premium, multi-purpose pipe thread sealant engineered for professional plumbing and industrial applications. This soft-set, slow-drying compound features an oleoresinous base with inert fillers, providing a reliable seal that remains flexible and does not harden over time. It is compatible with a wide range of materials including galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, and PVC, though it is not recommended for ABS or CPVC. The sealant is rated for extreme pressures up to 12,000 psi for liquids and 2,600 psi for gases, and it allows for immediate pressurization up to 100 psi in water and natural gas lines. Its non-toxic, lead-free formula is NSF 61 certified for potable water systems and acts as a lubricant to prevent thread galling while ensuring easy breakout during future maintenance.
